Information Requests

If you need records from the Town of Cortland, first obtain a Freedom of Information Act request form from the Office of the Clerk or download it below.  Specify whether you would like to inspect the records at Town Hall, or if you would like a copy or certified copy of the records that you are requesting.  Viewing documents at Town Hall is free, but there is a charge for copies and postage if necessary.

Records and information will be made available for inspection and copying unless they are exempt under the Freedom of Information Act.  Each request will be complied with or denied within five working days after its receipt.  The five day period may be extended an additional five working days if required.
